Biographical Information:

Ethan Berkowitz got to Alaska as soon as he could, and he came the long way around to get here. From law school to Antarctica to (finally) Alaska in 1991. Ethan’s hauled nets and picked fish on commercial boats in Bristol Bay, herded reindeer in the Aleutians, and snowmachined from Manley to Nome.  He has traversed glaciers, and driven the Haul Road.  He has dipnetted on the Copper and hunted caribou on the Kobuk.  He’s shared food everywhere from Metlakatla to Barrow, slept on couches in places from Kaltag to Kenai, picked berries in Bethel, gotten stitched up in Palmer, purchased a wardrobe in Petersburg, flipped a skiff in the Lynn Canal, tipped his truck just off the Glenn Highway, celebrated a birthday in Cordova, and spent a lot of time jawboning in Juneau. Endorsements:

People across the country are supporting Ethan in his run for US Congress. Feel free to read some of the endorsements:

From the Anchorage Daily News:

Berkowitz’s integrity, coupled with a lively intelligence and 10 years of experience as a lawmaker in Juneau, qualifies him to give Alaska new, strong representation in the U.S. House. He is the right candidate to replace the ethically compromised and regularly outrageous Don Young.

From Elise Patkotak:

“So here’s my vote. Obama, Begich and Berkowitz. Because they represent a new direction and a chance to right this ship of state before it sinks under the weight of socialism for the rich, pre-emptive wars and divisive hatemongering that sets neighbor against neighbor and destroys that which has made our country great — the belief that everyone has a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

From Esquire Magazine:

“First shamed (the “Bridge to Nowhere”), then suspected (IRS and FBI investigations), in two election cycles Young’s gone from party stud to party pariah. Governor and VP nominee Sarah Palin appeared with Ted Stevens just before his recent indictment to show her support. But no one likes Young. No one. Esquire endorses: Berkowitz”

From Alaska AFL-CIO:

“We’re proud to support Ethan. He has a long and distinguished record of standing up for worker’s rights, and we know he’ll take those values to our nation’s capitol.”
